More detailed statistics breakdown on website

https://w3champions.com/OverallStatistics/heroes-winrates

I think the stats on hero pick rates on this website are massively interesting, and has immense potential to be used for balancing. For example I find it interesting how unique Orc heroes are compared to other races' heroes, in overall pick rates. Another example is how completely sidelined Warden, PotM, Dread Lord, Crypt Lord, and Bloodmage are overall, by better options.

Is there any way to allow for more detailed breakdowns than this?

Also, I think some of the breakdowns technically give faulty or misleading data.

# "Faulty" data:
If you select "Pick: first", the percentages of all heroes in each racial category should not add up to 100%, since sometimes a Tavern hero is picked first. They add to 100% however; even within the Tavern!
So I assume the query that is asked, is: "If Hero of [Race/Tavern] is picked first, which hero of that race/tavern is picked first?".

In particular, "If Tavern hero gets picked **across all races**, which gets picked first at which rate?", I would argue is almost useless data. In any case, grouping heroes ordered for races does not make sense this way. Instead, the way the query is asked now, all percentages of all heroes across all races should add up to 100%.

This way we are losing out on the data of the true pick rates of Tavern Heroes, for example: for Night Elves.
The way the data is presented atm, it looks like 100% of the time, NE players pick a NE hero as their second pick.
All we know is that, across all races, if a second hero is a Tavern hero, it is a Naga Sea Witch 45% of the time.

# Alternative Query for this use case:

The query that should be asked is: "If [Race] is played, which hero is picked [first/second/third], including Tavern heroes?", and the Tavern heroes should be listed with each race, to be able to read which race picks which Tavern heroes at which rate.
That way it makes sense to group the sets according to race.
Also "none" should be a valid result, since in many games players only pick two heroes, or sometimes even just one (or none).
So within a race, all racial and tavern heroes' pick rates should add up to 100%. Technically heroes of other races need to be listed within every race, since they can be picked through possessed workers^^

# Further Feature Ideas for the Statistics page

  • A way to define an MMR range (in particular for the Hero Matchup win rates, but too for pick rates), the way you have it for overall winrates.
  • A breakdown of how often which race is played.
  • Pick rate breakdown by race, for every hero (non-racial non-tavern heroes could be summarized into one single bar, tbf, since this is so rare).

Additional detail:
When checking out the hero matchup win rates, I realized that it is impossible to input such things as:
BM-Any-None
You can only input BM-None-None
Also it is impossible to input Any-None-None.
As soon as a pick is input as "any", the pick after it cannot be input as "none".
